More on rooming in

One last post before the day is done. We're almost done our errands/chores and are ready to relax...

Last night's rooming in at the hospital went great. We wheeled the boys over to the family room in their crib and set up shop.

Let the party begin!

Feeding props

We were left to our own devices with all the meds, diapering supplies and linens we could muster. We fed the boys before bed then tried to hunker down but it was a bit difficult to fall asleep with all the excitement, not to mention the endless call bells ringing on mother-babe. Like seriously?? Who are all these mothers that need so much assistance in the night and where oh where are their nurses when the bells keep ringing...and ringing...and ringing.

Anyway, after a very short slumber the boys were up again. We were up, pumped, fed, cuddled two boys and were back to bed in an hour. Way to go team! Luckily Jordan managed to fall asleep at this point while I laid awake and contemplated many more sleepless nights.

Then comes 4am when Nolan decides it's time to party. The crib won't do. The bouncy chair won't do. Only mommy's arms will do. So 2 and a half hours of cuddles later both boys wanted to eat again and our night was basically done.

When all was said and done, it went really well. Nolan's day/night pattern needs a little work, but Jordan and I did well together figuring out how things are going to run smoothly. We're hoping that with some practice and the comfort of our own home we can shave valuable time off those middle of the night feeds.

The morning after - 3 sleepy boys

2 hours of sleep for mom and 4 hours for dad and now we're off for naps....zzzzzz.....
