Mom had to steal some of the spoils
When we got home the kids went for naps and I went up to the NICU to return all the wedge stuff (yay!) and some of the boys' clothes I am donating to the social worker to give to families in need. Boy did that feel good to unload although I'm not sure why I picked the hottest day yet to bring an enormous load of stuff up there. Anyway, back at the homestead the kids were up so we went and hung out in our backyard in the shade. The kids played (as much as the boys can play) in the world's tiniest blow up pool then lounged under the apple tree afterwards:
When all that was done we came in and fed the boys butternut squash, their first try of food aside from rice cereal. It was a hit! I can't wait for Jordan and I to start having our baby food cook-offs like we would every weekend with Rio. Soon they can eat apples from our trees and veggies from our garden. Organic babies all the way!
What a lovely day, although since the boys are now crankier than I have ever seen them - dare I say too hot?
I can't believe you came to the NICU and I didn't hear about it! Did you come to the unit to say Hi! or was it just a drop off visit? I would've loved to see you as I was working today. Maybe sometime soon!

I can't figure out who's the thumb-sucker. . . Throw me a bone, trace!
ReplyDeleteLove the nails. Summer picked out some polish the other day - lime green. I think she and Rio have the same taste!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous Boys!!
ReplyDeleteLove those eyes in the first picture. Beautiful! Plus Rio's toenails are so sweet!
ReplyDeleteThey are too darn cute!
Normally, men wouldn't even have the word cute in their limited vocabularies let alone say it but apparently its OK for a Grandpa to let one go occasionally (you know what I mean) in reference to his grandchildren...cute, dam cute!
ReplyDeletekeeey ute!
ReplyDeleteOn closer examination, I think it's Nolan sucking his thumb . . .
