Today the boys are 305 days old. It may sound like just a number, but this day has enormous meaning to me; in fact, in some ways today is one of the most special days of their lives so far. Because as of today they have spent 153 days at home with us - 1 more than their 152 day hospital stay. Today, and every day for the rest of their lives, that horrible 152 days is just a part of their past that is getting increasingly smaller. No matter what obstacles they may still face, they are no longer defined by their prematurity and their NICU stay. Today starts a new chapter in our lives and celebrates a time to start looking to their bright future instead of thinking of their difficult past.
As always, my heart bursts with pride and I couldn't be more honoured to be their mom. They are truly amazing and miraculous!
