Blah Week

Well this is probably the longest I have gone without posting, so I apologize for that, but not much has been going on around here. In fact this week has been pretty "meh".

First off, we all have colds. No one is overly sick but no one is feeling tip top either. The onset of rainy fall hasn't helped much. Thankfully, the boys have handled it better than any of us so they have weathered their first sicknesses outside of the hospital without it moving to their chests. PHEWWWW.

In Nolan news, he has another tooth, so that makes two on the bottom and a pretty funny smile!

In Asher news, he continues to see his physio. Today she wrote up her assessment of him which she will pass on to the NICU for his follow up appointment in a few weeks. As expected he is still in the risk zone for motor issues. He is making small improvements though, so for that we are thankful. But at the same time it's disheartening because we're forced to acknowledge the reality that he may not be able to work through some of those issues. But enough of that for now, as always we're trying to focus on the small miracles he shows us every day!

In Rio news, she is absolutely loving preschool and we have even stumbled upon our painfully shy girl making new friends, although she claims she doesn't know anyone's name yet!

And that's about it. I keep waiting for something inspirational to blog about these past couple days, but nothing's hit me yet...maybe I'm still traumatized by the big 3-5?!

  1. I don't know if you meet Mary from Antepartum/ L&D? She was my favorite well helen too!
Last summer of 2009 when we stopped in to drop off pics and visit(on a side the huge twin pic across from antepartum's nursing station is us!) we saw her after a long day of appoitnments and I had to break the news to her that yes something was not right with Kendryk, I was on a rollercoaster of emotions that day but the words she left me with I will never forget and pass on to you, (I am not a big God person and am stuck on my beliefs for years but it made sense)
"God knew the plan for Kendryk yes it is hard and yes there are obsticles, but since he knew this he insured she would be born with her best friend someone who would love her with a deeper bond than anyone else in the world, someone who would fight for her and help her live her life to the fullest without even relizing what she is doing"

It is so true, as siblings they do have there spats but there is something unspoken something (must be a twin thing) that Julie-Ann knows. There have been a handfull of times Kendryk has completly freaked out and because she can't do something, even if I am at a loss Julie-Ann comes along and knows exactly what she needs last time she took Kendryk's hands and showed her what to do with a toy.
To Nolan and Julie-Ann there is nothing different about Asher and Kendryk, it is an unconditional friendship and unconditional love.

  2. That comment above is very inspiring...made it worth reading your post HA HA HA. I love reading your blog Tracey - even when there is not much going on - it is always interesting to hear a friends news (or lack there of it) :)
