Yesterday, on a lovely hot and sunny fall day, we got out and took the kids for a walk through Francis/King Park. Unbeknownst to us, they have a wheelchair accessible trail so we were able to take the boys without having to trek them over rocks and roots and before long their peaceful ride put them to sleep.
Rio had a great time checking out different trees and bugs, but we got her a little freaked out going through the tree below...
For some reason I decided to tell her that once we went through that doorway we'd never be the same (I'm not sure what I was originally implying, but there ended up being talk of fairies and elves). As much as she wanted to not believe me, part of her was terrified - "You're joking, right? You're joking?". On our second loop around the trail we went through the same thing again - you'd think she'd learn, or that maybe I wouldn't find it so funny the second time around, but again, same thing. Pretty amusing stuff.
Nice day for all of us to breathe some fresh air, especially me who seems to have gotten the worst of the family cold. Back to work for Jordan today, and back to me coughing all over our otherwise healthy kids.
Looks like fun!
