Here I am, finally updating you on our holiday. It will be a two-parter, as our trip had two legs - Van-Island and Van-City.
So after a long week of my packing and list making and Jordan working, we took off last Thursday, late afternoon. As you can see, traveling with five takes a whole lot of stuff.
We were up and out of the house the first morning to meet up with Summer and family who were in Comox visiting the grandparents, all the way from North Bay Ontario. We had a great visit and it was so nice to chat in person instead of over email as we have now been doing for months. Rio and Summer hit it off as we expected and Tammy and I didn't really let anyone else get a word in edgewise. We unfortunately didn't get any good pics of the two girls, but here's me and Tam with the boys:
After lunch and lots of treats we headed back to Gramma's for a quick re-fuel before heading out to Grampa and Gramma Jackie's in Courtenay for the evening. We had a great visit and Rio ate waaaay too many marshmallows on the fire. Here's the beauty hanging out on the deck (doing nothing special, I just think she looks incredibly cute):
Another late night for Rio and back to Gramma's for a good sleep and sleep in for all. Woohoo! Two nights down and the kids are literally sleeping like babies (in a good way!) We woke up and had a quiet morning with Gramma before saying our goodbyes and heading south of Courtenay to visit our friends Jamie and Mel and their darling girls Molly and Jillian. Rio and Molly were long lost best buddies and the boys chilled with baby J below:
It was so great to catch up with J, M, M and J as we don't see them often enough. Lots of laughs and wine were shared and two little girls DES-PER-ATE for a sleepover in the same room finally needed to be separated to their own quarters after endless shenanigans and promises of sleep. After all that, another surprisingly good sleep was had by all and we took off first thing the next morning to head back down island to Nanaimo to catch the ferry to Vancouver.
And that's where I'll leave you for now. Vacation details part deux will follow.

Glad you had fun, and you came so close to my neck of the woods, next week we are hitting Victoria! Well just me and Kendryk.
