Quiet Mornings

Yesterday morning, for the first time in weeks, we had no plans. I sent Rio off to preschool and the boys and I relaxed. It was a nice change from our usual busy schedule, especially given the kind of rough week I've been having.

Today due to plans falling through we were on our own again. Instead of trying to reschedule something I decided we should enjoy the quiet again. After making scones, getting the kids fed, bathed, and the kitchen cleaned up (well not really), Rio and I did some crafts while the boys napped. I was so proud of her. On the pumpkins she did all the painting and gluing, and about 95% of the cutting herself. On the moon she did all the gluing and sparkling, although I admit I cut out the bats for her. It's nice that she's finally old enough for me to supervise while she does the work, instead of the other way around.

Just as we went outside to hang the crafts on the door she discovered mail from Gramma so she ripped into that and continued with a sticker explosion. Don't mind the lack of shirt, it's her thing these days. Clothing restricts her creativity, or something like that ;)

The boys, after waking, had a good session in their exersaucers. They are a nice change from lying on the floor, since neither of them have much interest in sitting. Exersaucers are generally frowned upon by PT's (because it can accentuate increased tone in their legs) but ours has ok'ed it because she knows how much easier it is for Asher to play with toys that are directly in front of him, as opposed to lying above or beside him on the floor.

Now all three kids are back in bed and I am attempting to tackle my essay for my writing class (each session we have a spark but also one long essay we are working on the entire time). I have scrapped my topic twice now, but think this new one may be here to stay. If I can just get motivated enough to plug on through...
