We did keep it small this year, but also followed the dinosaur theme as much as possible, and I am pleased to say it was a total success! The kids were all very well behaved (including the boys who did not make a peep - thanks to aunties and grandparents, Jordan and I never saw them for two hours!). Most importantly, Rio had a blast. I too was thrilled with the result and this was probably the most I have ever enjoyed any of the kids' birthday parties. I think it helped that there weren't 65 people here like the last one.
Rio is quite confused by the fact that today isn't her real birthday but we are celebrating like it is (her actual birthday is May 18). Jordan works Wednesday so it will be a very low key day for her. I think she's ok with that given how much fun she had today. Here are a few pictures of the day - the weather even held out for some backyard running around and trampoline play.
Thanks to our friends and family who joined us, as always you spoiled us!
Rio requested (insisted) we make her a birthday message on the glass
Mommy and daddy were up late making homemade dinosaur streamers
Rio's contribution to the decorations - some very detailed dinosaur art
I need to show off my dinosaur cookies
...and my dinosaur cake. Oh yes, that's a volcano! If you can't tell I'm quite proud of myself :)
