Ever since I got a traumatic glimpse of my incision the other night, I've been looking at it. At least now I can look without crying - that's something. Doesn't mean it's easy to look at though, I feel like Frankenstein.
Jordan suggested I share the photos. Sorry if you have a weak stomach...
Day 2 - close up
Modeling my drain - delicious!
Day 4 - drain removed
I can see why that would be traumatic to see (for you and the rest of the family). Took a lot of guts to post the pics. I'm impressed.
ReplyDeleteNow that the tube is out, it's time to start having "fun" with it. If anybody asks about it, tell them that you got in a fight with some Mexican bandits who tried to garotte you, but you beat them down.
Amazing how much better it looks on Day 4. So imagine what it will look like in a week, etc.
ReplyDeleteSee you tomorrow!

From a nurse's point of view, it's a beauty of a wound! It's healing up really well (I'm sure Jord has told you so already). I can, however, understand the trauma associated with it, as a woman's point of view. I've had a friend that had her thyroid removed and the scar is barely visible. Hang in there, you're doing really well! Sending quick healing vibes your way. Xxo
ReplyDeleteTracey, that is rough. I am sorry you had to go through this! I hope it all gets better as each day goes by. And your kids are so beautiful! I love to see your pictures.
ReplyDeleteCheryl.
Many hugs, Tracey. It looks like it is healing nicely. Hope you continue to feel stronger every day.
