Landing in Holland

I've thought about linking to these essays for a while, and then I don't get around to it and forget about them for months and months. But the other day Jordan stumbled upon the first essay so I figured now is the time. Especially that given the events of Asher's MRI (or lack thereof), I have been feeling as though I'm back wandering around the airport, wondering how on earth I got there.

Please have a read of the essay called Welcome to Holland.  It's nice, but it has a happy ending, and the truth of the matter is that whether the ending is happy or not, the struggles of life in Holland are real, and present every day.

So in my opinion, a better description (by a different author) is the entry into Holland, via Amsterdam International airport. Talk about culture shock, not to mention the jet lag!

Ok the jet lag was a stupid metaphor. These essays are famous for a reason so they should speak for themselves. Please have a read.
