It's Here

Now what?

Any guesses as to how long it will sit in our glove compartment before we're brave enough to use it?

Update: I wrote this post last week and had it sitting in drafts, forgetting to publish it. We actually used the pass for the first time yesterday - MUCH sooner than I had expected. We used it at the boys' therapy gym because none of the "regular" spots were available. If we didn't use it we would have needed to park in a separate parking lot, so seemed as good a time as any to break it out! So now the real question is - when is the first time we'll use it outside of a location that is directly related to the boys having a disability?!

  3. I didn't think we would use it much, but now I use it any time Nina is with me in the car and she has to get out. No matter if we have the wheelchair, walker, she walks on her own, or I have to carry it. She is 6 years old and she is heavy/slow/does not have the stamina to walk through a parking lot and a store.
Don't feel bad, you got it because you need it!

  4. Thanks Ellen, it's not that I feel bad using it, it's that I feel sad. But I know that we'll get used to it eventually and it will make life with very heavy boys much easier!

  5. I'm sure you would do anything not to have to use one. I bet you would even park in the farthest spot at Costco if the boys could easily run to the store with you. That must be hard.

  7. I dreaded it at first but it is a lifesaver with the twins, it also makes it easier to load and unload espcially with the new huge seating system! I was heartbroken in the begining also it does get easier. We leave ours out so we don't forget to pull it out when we park.
The only funny thing I have been asked by someone was "You get to park there when you have twins?" The twins were younger but I said yes I get because of the twins because of there CP
