Charity Pause

Steptember is just around the corner, benefitting the Cerebral Palsy Association of BC, one of my personal favourites. But I'm not participating this year...

Not because I need to take a break from activity. Not because I no longer support these causes. But because I want to give YOU a break.

In the past, I have been unbelievably lucky and successful in my fundraising efforts. Be it cancer, CP, Variety, or the Children's Health Foundation - all charities near and dear to my heart - people answer the call when I ask. So I really want to keep it that way.

I don't want to exhaust all of you - my fundraising support circle. You all have charities that are important to you as well, and most of us do not have endless supplies of money with which to donate to every charity that asks us. So one day, in likely the not too distant future, I will ask you to give generously again. But for today at least, you're off the hook from my end.

In the mean time, go be charitable with your hearts and all the causes that fill them. Being charitable does not always require your credit card :)

Our Summer in Photos

Wow. 6 weeks without a post. That's just embarrassing. I guess we've had a busy summer!

Here's just a little bit of what we've been up to, at least to tide me over til I'm ready to write a real post...

We welcomed our kitten, Jon Snow. Who almost died then came back to life.

We said goodbye to the Hip.

Some piano playing outside of science world

The BC ferries buffet (maybe more than once)

Someone lost two teeth!

We visited Papa in Trail

And worked very hard at physio

Beach house building

And yet another concert

Walking the streets of Nelson

And floating in Kelowna

We're almost ready for back to school...but not quite yet. One week left to suck the marrow out of this summer!
